Seven Picasso paintings coming to Sotheby’s next month

An Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale at Sotheby’s of Bond Street will see the auctioning of seven Picasso paintings on the 5th of next month. One of the paintings in the lot is his Tête de Femme of Dora Maar. The painter and photographer Dora Maar, the famous muse and lover of the artist, has been the subject of many Picasso masterpieces.

One of the Málaga artist’s portraits of the lady Dora Maar with Cat fetched the second highest price for an artwork ever, selling for over $95.2 million in a May 2006 auction. His Head of a Woman sold for $29.1 million last November. The painting Tête de Femme, Head of a Woman of Dora Maar, up for auction amongst six others, is expected to fetch something between $13 and $17 million.
