The Nobel Watch Company has had the same slogan for 15 years: I didn’t get the Nobel Prize…But I got the Nobel watch. As you might imagine, this slogan does not sit well with the Nobel Foundation, the Stockholm, Sweden-based organization that hands out Nobel prizes.
It has ordered the watch company to stop using the slogan, sending out a cease-and-desist letter asking the company to stop using the words Nobel Prize. The company has said that they will continue to use the slogan. The Nobel Watch Company sells Swiss-made watches in a variety of price points from basic steel watches fro $295 to gold and diamond-studded watches that cost more than $15,000. The watch shown here sells for $795.
