New limited edition of most expensive watches Audemars Piguet Royal Oak pays homage to China’s Great Wall - one of the world’s greatest wonders. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Pride of China watch presents a striking combination of stainless steel and 18-karat pink gold. A silvered dial with a “grand tapisserie” central motif presents indicators for the moon phases and power reserve in the upper hemisphere, and a circular pointer-type date display at 6 o’clock. Turning the watch over reveals an intricately engraved solid caseback that depicts the Great Wall of China, as well as the text “Royal Oak Pride Of China Limited Edition”.
Animating the Royal Oak Pride of China is the self-winding 3123 caliber, a variation upon Audemars Piguet’s manufacture 3120 caliber. Power reserve is approximately 60 hours, and the freely-sprung variable inertia balance alternates 21,600 times each hour. The massive, central rotor is crafted from 22-karat gold. Audemars Piguet will produce a limited edition of only 250 examples of the most expensive luxury watches. The watch is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal, and is water resistant to 50 meters.
