Some months ago we’ve already seen 24 ct Goldstriker’s gold iphone. Computer Choppers has presented the ‘World’s First Gold iPhone 3G’. It’s the first 24kt polished yellow gold iPhone 3G. It is believed that it has been tough to douse the iPhone 3G when compared to the previous iPhones.

Probably it’s the degraded plastic used on the 3G that is to be blamed. Now that doesn’t seem to be good news for iPhone 3G users. This luxury phone is good for anyone who feels that the iPhone’s purchase price, and subsequent contractual tie-in just isn’t costing them enough money, there’s a new luxury option coming soon. It’s a pity, but we have nothing info of the price.

Forget about making music – check out the Ply concept luxury phone handset from Japanese designer Hideo Kanbara. This luxury phone, inspired by the multiple layers of wooden sandwich in plywood, is of multiple slider design. It packs a printer, a digital projector, a game controller, and a widescreen touch cell phone combined to form a nice shiny package.

It’s as cool as it is impossible to build, and so KDDI labs should feel proud for making an imaginary device with so much character. I suppose current technology will have to be miniaturized even further if this Ply concept were to take off. Hopefully it will be durable as well, since it is pretty hard to get something so slim to maintain a certain standard of rigidity.

The turn-to-mute silencing mechanism lets users silence incoming calls in a discrete manner by turning the phone over, screen-side down. In addition to 3G capabilities, the 8800 Carbon Arte has a 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera, high-quality audio, and a vivid OLED screen. Luxury phone will hit the market in the third quarter of 2008.
