Tibetan mastiffs are fabulously wealthy in China. They are reportedly one of the oldest and fiercest breeds in the world. According to legend, both Genghis Khan and Buddha had them, and they are known to be great guard dogs. Last week in Qingdao unknown Malaysian businessman paid about $1.5 million for an 11-month-old red Tibetan mastiff named Sensation, tying the record for most expensive dog ever sold. “He is a perfect specimen,” said Mr Lu, who runs the Tibetan Mastiff Garden in Laoshan, near the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao. “He has excellent genes and will be a good breeding dog. When I started in this business, ten years ago, I never thought we would see such a price.”

Three feet tall and weighing in at about 180 pounds, Sensation has been raised on a diet of beef, chicken, abalone, and sea cucumber. The Malaysian businessman says he spends more than $5,000 a month maintaining his five prized beasts. The owner can likely make some of that $1.5 million back, as some breeders are willing to pay as much as $100,000 for his stud services!

That’s not a joke! Russian designer Art Lebedev created this off-beat “Povodokus”, a dog leash fashioned to look like a handgun. What the Povodokus dog leash lacks in functionality, it makes up with style. The gun’s trigger even acts as the leash release/retractor.

It seems the perfect way to take out your frustrations on your stupid dog. Sure, Pooch thinks that this is just another extendable leash, but now every time Pooch poops and you have to scrape it off the sidewalk, you can get back some dignity by taking aim with the pistol-shaped handle and squeezing a few imaginary rounds into the back of his too-trusting canine pea-brain.
