On the 8th of June Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci, has unveiled Gucci pre-spring show at a 17th century hilltop Villa Aurelia in in Rome. It was held there to celebrate 70th year of the brand’s flagship and Gucci via Condotti Rome presented its new store concept. Frida Giannini designed an exclusive environment that boasts light, warmth, luxury and Gucci’s iconic elements, in keeping with the tradition and history of the brand. Gucci inaugurates a new design concept for the 21st century. The historic store hosts all product categories. Womenswear and menswear are situated in two elegant dedicated areas, whilst jewelry is housed in its own boutique.

To underline the exclusivity and refinement of the new design, an area dedicated to the history of the brand has been conceived, to showcase limited editions and precious accessories from the archives. The store on via Condotti enriches the buying experience with a refined and luxurious atmosphere. The event was attended by Gucci models Claire Danes and James Franco, and Danes’actor boyfriend Hugh Dancy. Frida Giannini said before the show: “Everyone is doing cruise (collections) because customers and the market are now very demanding and people need to always have fresher pieces and new things in the store.” Her show follows similar cruise wear parades by Christian Dior at a sleek New York restaurant and Chanel in Miami Beach, California. She said: “Gucci is just the definition of glamour and luxury and it’s incredibly feminine and sexy and powerful.”

Exceptional fine jewelry items have been specially created for the anniversary. The collection, which is currently only available in the Rome store, includes a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings. The main feature of each jewel is a beautiful and expertly cut cognac topaz, surrounded by diamonds, the latter weighing 22 carats for the necklace, 17carats for the bracelet and 2.5 carats each for the earrings. A boldly oversized cognac topaz and diamond cocktail ring, already available in the current Gucci fine jewelry collection adds the final touch to this splendid set.

World-renowned maker of luxury goods, Jimmy Choo, celebrated the opening of their new boutique in style earlier this May. Most famous for their collection of bags and shoes, the new boutique in Castlereagh Street in Sydney is the brand’s first outlet on the Australian continent.

Sydney’s leading style icons and international celebrities, including Miss Universe 2004 Jennifer Hawkins, graced the boutique’s party held at Hemmesphere. Guests at the opening party were treated to a fashion showcase of Jimmy Choo’s Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection of luxury shoes and fashion designer handbags, as well as Jimmy Choo’s first ever eyewear collection.
