Well-heeled fans of “The Wizard of Oz” looking for their own pair of ruby slippers can choose from a collection made by top designers with red Swarovski crystals. Vincent Beggs, an independent curator for Warner Brothers Studios, adjusts Judy Garland’s Arabian ruby slippers, one of five pairs believed designed by Adrian Greenberg of MGM studios and believed worn by Garland for test and wardrobe shots in the 1939 film ‘The Wizard of Oz. ‘ Beggs was setting the shoes up for a showing at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008.

All the shoes from the Ruby Slipper Collection unveiled at a party to mark New York Fashion Week. The shoes, considered the rarest of all the ruby slippers used while making the film, are owned by Debbie Reynolds. Each pair is worth at least $1,000, adding that plain leather couture shoes at Saks start at $650. But since the shoes will be raffled for charity next year, in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the movie’s release, each pair could easily fetch much more.

Pictured below is a $2 million sandal from Stuart Weitzman that was sported at the Le Vian party in Las Vegas. The silver leather designer heels flaunt 185 carats of tanzanite and 28 carats of diamonds.

The frontage strip sports a slim belt of diamonds with fitted profound gemstones to arc around the ankle with a 16 carat pear-shaped tanzanite plunge bordered by diamonds that swings over the face of the foot. The stones on the sandals seem to be mounted unswervingly onto the leather and hardly seem to be detachable.

Swedish shirt makers Eton have a long and proud history of dressing the world in the classiest shirts known to man. So it kinda seems only fair that they should celebrate their 80th anniversary by manufacturing what is being called âThe Worldâs Most Expensive Shirtâ. Created from the most luxuriant Egyptian cotton yarn, the celebratory shirt features colored diamond studs and white diamond-encrusted cufflinks which look rather dull and boring considering how the shirt comes with a price tag of a whopping ÂŁ23,000 (appx. US $44,740).

For that kinda cash, I donât really blame people for wanting the garment to do more them, like acting as an invisibility cloak or maybe even a time-travel device or something! But this one-off piece isnât aimed at being a complete rip-off since the company plans to auction the thing for charity after it does a promotional tour of Eton stores across the world including outlets at Milan, LA and Stockholm so you might just have the chance to see for yourself what a shirt that retails for a good quarter of a million pounds looks like.
