Beijing managed to invite a pool of attention cause of its ‘Bird’s Nest‘ National Stadium that can lodge track and field events at a cost much lower than London’s Wembley Stadium, which is honored as world’s most expensive stadium. The Wembley’s development costed $1.5 billion mark during it’s erection in 2003-2007. Designed and developed in 1924, Wembley Stadium is being witnessed as the focal point for sporting events in England.

And how can you go wrong with a stadium containing dozens of world class restaurants to feed and sit over 2,000 people at one time (and the accompanying 2,618 toilets)? One of the most impressive features of the stadium is its structural design. The large metal arch, ‘The Steel Tiara’ swooping overhead provides the structural support of the entire building, thus eliminating the need for pillars obscuring fans’ views. And it’s 90,000-seat capacity (all covered from rain) makes it the third largest stadium in Europe, but it still pales in capacity comparisons to Michigan’s The Big House (112,000) and Ohio State’s Horseshoe (102,000).

Historically unique event for the start of the Summer Season will be held in NYC. It’s the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic and is the first time Polo will be played in NYC in over 70 years. It will take place on Governors Island (Sat 31 May). Ralph Lauren’s team, Blackwatch, including Nacho Figueras - face of Polo Black and best player in the world will be playing against Asprey team.

This event brings a taste of Hamptons to NYC, it’s open to the public (free ferries run from Manhattan to Gov Island every 30 mins). Veuve Clicquot champagne bar will be open field-side during the event. Picnics are allowed around the field - match starts at 3pm.
