This one of the best electronic gadgets, iBasket, I found in top nine Guopeng Liang’s Electrolux Design Lab ’08 finalists. There’s no radical new washing technology implied, nor some fancy eco-friendly water-saving technique. All it does is waiting until it contains a certain weight of clothing, and then do a basic (presumably cold) wash. Sporting an all clear body, this cylindrical washing angel is programmed to trigger washing once a specific weight is accumulated. With an automated time feature, it niftily cleans your unclean collection. Built-in air refresh system removes the yucky odor, too. Without making any noise, once done with its job, the basket flashes the LEDs fixed at bottom. It also instant-messages you to tell you what it’s up to. For civilized people, it might seem a purposeless appliance. But for those with neither hamper nor washing machine — think disgusting college students — why not? Via:  bornrich |
