Unique art: “Blue Period” Picasso Painting may fetch $60.9 Million

Andrew Lloyd Webber, composer of works such as “Cats”, U.K.’s few music millionaire, is going to sell “Portrait of Angel Fernandez de Soto (The Absinthe Drinker)” from Pablo Picasso’s “Blue Period” for charity. Portrait of Angel Fernandez de Soto is a freely painted study of a raffish young Spanish artist sitting in a bar in Barcelona, Picasso’s friend who who was killed in the Spanish Civil War.

The painting will be included in a June 23 auction of Impressionist and modern art) at a London. It may fetch as much as 40 million pounds ($60.9 million). The “Blue Period” canvas is the most highly estimated work of art to be offered at auction in Europe. Lloyd Webber bought this piece of art for $29.2 million using funds donated by the composer himself, said Christie’s. The auction price will be donated to Lloyd Webber’s charity to promote arts and culture throughout the UK.

Most expensive house: Mischa Barton sells her Beverly Hills home for $8.4million

Anglo-American actress Mischa Barton has put her Beverly Hills home for sale because of her financial troubles. She bought this 7,600 square foot, 6 bedroom, 10 bathroom Hollywood estate for $6.4 million in 2005.

The Tuscan-style property, located in an exclusive private nearly Sunset Strip and Rodeo Drive, features a family style kitchen, ascending staircase, a swimming pool and spa, terrace with canyon views and a media room. Asking price: $8.4million.

Swiss watchmaker ArtyA continues its successful line of most expensive watches by launching new Corpolite model. Designer Yvan Arpa was inspired by the Jurassic period, ArtyA Coprolite Watch was designed with an understated aesthetic sense, the dial is free of indexes or any other pointless features.

It is encircled in a round case sculpted in stainless steel grade 316 or, as an affirmation to its prehistoric lineage, in bronze with its characteristic blazig hues. The watchcase is considered as a challenging arena for excelling in decoration. ArtyA Coprolite comes with a strap made with skin from an American cane toad. It has a water-resistance up to 30 meters. Price: $11,290.

Legendary finest car rally, 2010 Mille Miglia is coming soon. The 1,000-mile classic road race begins and ends in Brescia, Italy. The first running of the Mille Miglia took place in 1927.
